Computer, the invention that acts as a turning point in the world of technology. The simple definition of computer is "Computer is an electronic device that computes.", There are certain features and characteristics of computer that makes it a powerful device, because of certain characteristics of computer it is an unbeatable invention of human being. It is very well known that a powerful computer haves capability of performing up to 4 million instructions per second and it is possible just because of certain characteristics of computers for example high speed, high accuracy, reliability, etc. These characteristics of computer has made it possible for us to use computer in almost every field. From a little wrist watch to outer space every where we are using computers and the truth is today we cannot imagine our world without computers.

There are uncountable characteristics of a computer but here we will go through all major characteristics of a computer that makes a computer, the unbeatable human invention ever.

Characteristics of Computer

1. Speed

Speed is the vary first characteristic of computer for what it is known. A computer is an electronic device that was designed with the motive of speed, the aim behind the invention of computer was to make a machine that can make calculations faster then humans and today difference between the speed of human being and computer is impossible to measure. What a computer can do in few minutes, a human being would not be able to complete the same task in his entire life even if working day and night constantly. Due to very high speed of computer, we measures it's functioning in micro seconds and neno seconds as even a second is very large span of time for a computer.

2. Accuracy

In addition to being very fast, computer is also trustworthy due to one of its characteristic that is Accuracy. Computer is a programmable machine which is once programmed for performing a particular task then it never make mistake in performing that particular task and every time completes the task with 100% accuracy. This reason is enough for us to blindly trust on computer.
However computer can also make mistakes or might produce error but the reason for that is human mistakes rather then technological weakness.

3. Diligence

Unlike human beings computer is free from tiredness, lack of concentration and other hurdles. A human being cannot work constantly without rest but diligence is the characteristic of a computer that allows it perform uncountable tasks without any rest or stop and the most wonderful thing is that it would perform every task with same speed and full accuracy doesn't matter number of tasks are in millions or billions.

4. Versatility

Versatility is the most wonderful characteristic of a computer which powers up computer to perform various kind of functions and tasks. For example, a computer can be used for preparing bills and at the same time it can process any other job like browsing web or listening music. This characteristic of computer makes it most powerful machine on the earth and have make it possible to use computer for performing almost every kind of jobs.

5. Power of Remembering (Memory)

Memory capacity of a computer is very high. Human brains whenever acquires a new knowledge selects some important part from it and sends unimportant information to the back of brain and after some time erases it permanently, but this is not the case with computer. A computer is capable of storing unlimited information doesn't matter it is important or not and even we can use that information after years. The secondary storage of a computer provides it capacity to store information permanently and can be used whenever required.

6. No IQ

Computer is an innocent machine which have no IQ it just works on instructions. Thus computer cannot harm any one or make a mistake. All what it done is what we command it to do or perform. Thus computer cannot make its own decisions and just work on the set of instructions that are know as programs.

7. No feelings

Unlike human beings computer does not have any feelings, it does not know any taste, relation or any other thing that humans have. This characteristic makes it diligence and every one operating a computer is same for the computer.
